Position description

The Radio Planning Engineer is responsible to plan CDMA and WiMAX, LTE radio networks in order to maximize coverage, quality, and reliability and to minimize cost.

Scope of duties

Nominal cell planning for outdoor, indoor and tunnel coverage based on customer coverage and capacity requirementsDefining and releasing site search areasAttend site by site review meetings with estates (remotely)Site candidate assessment based on a site acquisition report with panoramic pictures, coordinates, sketch of site etc. and by using coverage predictionsReview general arrangement drawingsIssue site configuration sheetsIssue call-off sheetsMaintaining accuracy of the radio planning databaseEnsure that all sites comply to build permit and any radio emission regulationsTake the required measures in case a discrepancy occursProvide coverage plots and analysis to support the acquisition process

Education

Technical degree in the field of Electrical Engineering, preferably within the area of TelecommunicationTraining on GSM, GPRS and UMTS systems as defined in the Knowledge Tracker.Training in ZTE/Ericsson/Nokia BSS/UTRAN system as defined in the Knowledge TrackerTraining in the tools required for the projects e.g. A9155, Asset etc. as defined in the Knowledge Tracker

Employment experience

Minimum 3 years experience from radio planning in CDMA and WiMAX, LTEExperience from working with planning and optimisation tools such as Asset, A9155 etc

Method skills

Excellent skills in radio planning of CDMA and WiMAX, LTEVery strong team working skillsHigh level of self responsibilityResults focused and understands criticality of meeting customer SLA and KPI requirementsBe fully aware of the impact of delivering quality of service to our customersStrong communication skills (verbal and written), including influencing those not under their direct control. Has the ability to assess priorities and act appropriately to meet customer commitments and requirements
