Sr. Program Manager

Job Description

As a Senior Program Manager, you will be responsible for running multiple complex programs from design and development to production and maintenance. You will be the key person responsible for bringing the different functional organizations in the company together around delivering a product or solution. Not only will you play an active role in engineering project scheduling, but you will also be responsible for managing product management, marketing, sales, technical publications, operations and customer service related milestones for the program.

Specific work activities include:

•               Bring the organization together around the formalization of programs in terms of release content, delivery plans, test coverage, quality criteria, customer trial timelines, support strategy and the like

•               Drive executive sign-off on program content and project deliverable timelines and commitments

•               Lead in defining resource requirements and schedules for project/program implementation

•               Oversee and direct the project engineering team and manage conflicts within the different groups

•               Identify risks and create strategies for their timely mitigation

•               Create effective reports on program status for management and executive team

•               Run weekly review meetings with program core team leads to address progress and open concerns and risks

•               Monitor quality of deliverables and coordinate with respective leads to ensure they are of high quality and will meet customer expectations

Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

•               10-14 years overall experience with at least 5-7 years in the telecom industry

•               5-7 years of software/hardware program and project management experience

•               Very strong communication and presentation skills

•               Experience with leading at least one large and complex program to fruition in the past

•               Should be an effective negotiator who can drive disagreements between organizations to closure by helping them focus on the overall common goal

•               Ability to ‘lead from the bottom’ to ensure accountability amongst the leadership of the company when it comes to delivering on their program milestones

•               In-depth knowledge of wireless telecom networks, familiarity with 3GPP specifications, GSM/UMTS, Mobile Packet Core and IP protocols a plus

•               Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electronics, Communications preferred)
