Position- Principal Engineer-  LBS Platform

Job Responsibilities :

    * Design and develop LBS application platform for mobile phones, involving software design and architecture, algorithm development, code optimization, and systems integration.

    * Architect and design for integration of SiRFStudio client platform with low-level handset platform in order to provide/replace handset platform API functionality via SiRFStudio implementation.

    * Develop and design for sensor API integration including GPS, Motion, Compass, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, MEMS, NFC.

    * Experience of developing applications using SIM Toolkit.

    * Experience of developing applications for legacy handsets, preferably feature handsets in addition to smart phone applications.

    * Develop and design scalable algorithms for mobile devices.

    * R&D features for the future feature and smart phones such as Android, Blackberry, Bada and iPhone, etc.

    * Assess mobile devices frameworks to determine how to create common builds for different mobile platforms.

    * Development of an handset platform experience desirable (Android, Symbian, Uiq).

    * Assess mobile devices to determine scope and complexity of application porting effort.

    * Coding and code review, in Java and C++ to realize robust, high performance, and code-size/memory/storage efficient infrastructure and applications.

    * Develop design that fulfils functional requirements while preserving scalability, performance and maintainability.

 Required Skills:

    * 10+ years experience in designing and developing commercial software.

    * 7+ years of development experience in developing mobile platforms.

    * BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent.

    * Good knowledge on software engineering principles.

    * Strong skills in interface design for extensibility and portability.

    * Strong disciplined coding skills - Java expertise and C++,C experience.

    * Strong verbal and written communication skills in writing technical documentation and communicating designs.

    * Proven ability to influence engineering peers and management.

    * Sensors and Location API experience or knowledge.

    * Mobile System experience or knowledge.

    * Experience developing and shipping applications for any of the mobile platform: J2ME on Legacy feature handsets, iPhone, Windows Mobile, Nucleus,  Android.

    * Assess OTA and provisioning requirements for down-loading,  pre-loading, pr-packaging, post-packaging of mobile applications.

    * Background in OTA automatic update functionality used to upgrade handset software.

    * OMA/SUPL experience desirable.
