Job Description

This is an exciting new opportunity to join the Migration Centre of Excellance at Cisco - INDIA, Bangalore. The position you will be filling is responsible for Service Provider Solutions, Migrations and Integration of the IP NGN (Next-Generation Networks) Solutions.

Job Description:
The position you will be filling is responsible for Planning, Designing and Implementing service provider solutions. This will further involve working with the architecture/design team, analyzing new solution requirements, evaluating Migration Strategies & developing Solutions/Migrations design/planing, writing test plans, building test lab configurations, and documenting results.

Need to interface with all facets of solution architecture/design team, development engineering and test engineering and identify key gaps for end-to-end solution Integration , Migration and testing.

Research and develop methodologies for Migration Solutions--SP Migration Strategies.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
5-10+ years related experience in designing, provisioning and coordination of large-scale service provider technology implementations. Cisco experience required typically requires BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Working knowledge of Cisco internetworking products in general preferably on ASR1k, ASR9K,c12xxx/XR12K, c76xx,ESR/c10K,CRS-1 is required.

Should have in-depth knowledge of Layer-2 , Layer-3 technologies and operations of test tools for traffic generation, multimedia traffic analysis would be a plus.

Should have a good understanding of several of the following and be very well versed in :

Functional Knowledge

Switching ( STP, VLANs, etc)
IP Routing (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, Multicast)
MPLS (Multicast VPNs, MPLS L2/L3 VPNs, VPLS, Label Switched Multicast/mLDP, Inter AS MPLS L2/L3,Multicast,CsC)
Quality of Service
IOS, IOS XE & IOS XR

Domain Knowledge
----------------

At Least 6-8 years of hands-on Service Provider voice/data/video network design, testing, troubleshooting and debugging skills is preferred.

Knowledge of WAN/LAN internetworking protocols equal to CCIE ( Service Provider) or CCIE-Design is desired.

Experience working on Service Providers,Service Provider Mobility(2G/3G, Mobile R4/IP RAN), Carrier Ethernet, Next-Generation MCAST, IPTV would be a plus.

Experience handling small/large Migrations for service Providers would be an added advantage.

BUSINESS SKILLS:
Knowledgeable of Advanced Services Program model deliverables and expectations. Be able to articulate value-add to Customer.

The ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams is a must. This includes cross-functional contribution and impact with development engineering on product development and serviceability design.

Must have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Extensive experience in the voice & data solutions of Cisco is required and also solutions offered by one or more of products of Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, Nortel products would be an added advantage.
