Job Description
Plan and strategies for Civil Design vertical, to support business requirements.
Develop appropriate plans and facilitate implementation of techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.Plan and schedule civil design activities to ensure completion of the project within the time and budgetary parameters as per the AOP, and the deployment plans.Issue technical guidelines to the engineering team for the deployment of the product (Tower, shelter, battery bank, etc) in alignment with the site requirements. Monitor the testing for the new products including field trails and functional testing to facilitate successful introduction of the new products into the system.Ensure appropriate civil design are produced and integrated into the electrical and energy requirements at the sites. Develop & recommend strategies towards achieving cost efficiencies at all site deployments, and optimum utilisation of available resources.Site readiness with a civil design perspective, to ensure adherence to specification
· Develop requirements, adhering to published time constraint, for passive components implementation. Conduct preliminary survey as necessary.
Oversee the complete process of designing site layout to facilitate the installation, commissioning & configuration of a wide range of telecom equipments into the system.· Check each Site Survey report for tower installation requirement as filed by the site Survey engineers for suitability of roof or ground to take the load of the site.
Ensure availability of required technical support on civil design aspects at the sites.
Provide solutions towards resolution of issues related to design and other technical aspects during deployment of the products.Assess the civil requirements and provide solutions based on need assessments.Ensure that civil calculations, drawings and installation details for civil infrastructure are produced in accordance with established standards and processes.Design the civil infrastructure in order to:- Achieve optimum utilization of space.
- Meet the specific terrain and environmental requirements
Ensure adherence to business processes - verification, audit and other third party checks and assist the assurance team in carrying out post installation site audit to ensure achievement of quality and audit parameters.Direct the teams at circles to ensure timely and effective trouble shooting on issues pertaining to civil works and handover sites strictly within schedule.
Planning of CAPEX and driving cost synergies
Drive cost synergies and cost optimization by:- Redesigning of product or solutions.
- Controlling and tracking of the engineering process in the field.
Forecast the projections for various requirements on quarterly and annual basis.Generate inputs towards release of various BOM and BOQ.Engage with vendors/technical consultants and operators
Interact with vendors to establish their scope of work and lay down their key deliverables.Identify & develop vendors for all passive infrastructure requirements, review their performance and ensure they meet the defined SLA’s .Interact with technical team on issues such as:- Electrical design and energy requirements
- Quality Assessment
- RF Planning and GIS Deployment
Engage with deployment team to ensure that all required passive components are procured and can be delivered to the site within the established schedule.Engage with the operator companies in order to understand their specific needs and product description.Co-ordinate with other disciplines internally and externally that require support.View the original article here
