Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION:
· Function as the subject matter expert for all IP/Layer 2/Layer 3 network address related issues and LAN technologies and network architecture.
· Drive the design of efficient and cost effective IP networking and transport layers involving L2 switching, complex routing, automatic failover, traffic prioritization and address translation.
· Own, manage, and evaluate L2/L3 IP address test plans, tunneling, QOS and acceptance criteria for all network designs.
· Perform proof of concept testing and validation of the network design in the field.
· Develop tools to determine dimensioning (capacity, etc) for the network transport layers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· 4+ years of hands-on experience in IP networking, Telecom experiences a plus.
· Strong IP networking abilities, with demonstrable knowledge, experience or expertise in the following areas:
o IP/Mobile IPv6, IPv4, Proxy MIP concepts.
· IP network security concepts; including AAA, Access Control Lists, Encryption (3DES, AES), DDOS prevention, detection, and remediation.
· Experience in TCP/IP protocol suite, Ethernet, MPLS, and other related IETF protocols.
· Experience in Applications networking, e.g. OSI layers 2-7, QoS, traffic shaping.
· Experience with IP network hardware, e.g. routers, switches, gateways, policy servers; Dynamic routing protocols: e.g. OSPF, IS-IS, BGP; DNS; High-availability network monitoring, e.g. SNMP, path variance; ISP architectures including e-mail, LDAP, DHCP, DNS, etc.
· Thorough understanding of DiffServ, IntServ/RSVP, and other related QOS protocols a strong asset.
· Outstanding track record with successful vendor management of outsourced contractors.
· Excellent communications, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
CCNA , CCNP certifications preffered
